Born Dec 7th 1962 he was one of two twins born that day. He grew up in his Appalachian home with two brothers and a oppressive father. At 19 he followed his younger brother to active service as a Navel Airmen. Todd along side his brother Thomas flew search and rescue missions mostly but also worked as Military police Transport and Recovery.
Jan 19th 1983
While on a routine fly over mission of a local villages farms a call came in that two marines stationed at the village had been awol for 2 days and several villagers seen with them missing. Todd and Thomas were able to find from the village chief that the men had taken the women from the fields to a nearby cave they used to process opium.
Thomas landed nearby the cave while Todd took entry to find the lost soldiers. Once inside the scene was dismal two bodies of local girls were dead near the entrance of the cave. They had gunshot wounds to there torsos both. As he went deeper he found women tied up beaten and worse. The men from the fields who came to try and get them also dead. Todd found the two soldiers deeper in the cave barely conscious and high on opium, the sight of the whole thing was too much for him as he knew what these men had done to these people. He came from the cave back to heli to let Thomas know the men were dead and that he needed help with the women still alive. When questioned by his commander he admits to killing the men in a fit of rage. His commanding officer takes it upon himself to falsify the report, The kidnapping done by a local terror group, the soldiers KIA and Todd is awarded the Navel Cross for his bravery and efforts but is deemed unfit for service after the event due to psychological trauma
Post Navel Career He returned home to Tennessee he finished his degree in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University and retired to a small town in Kentucky called Riverside.
